Malik Ata Muhammad Khan (1933-2018) was a legendary tent pegger and a renowned sportsman from Pakistan. He was born in the village of Hasan Abdal, Punjab and belonged to the Attock Khel clan of the Khattak tribe.

Tent-pegging is an equestrian sport that involves spearing a small wooden or metal peg with a sword or lance while riding a horse at full gallop. It is an ancient sport that originated in Central Asia and was practised by nomadic tribes for both recreation and warfare.

Malik Ata Muhammad Khan was a master tent pegger and represented Pakistan in numerous international tournaments. He was also the captain of the Pakistan tent-pegging team and played a pivotal role in promoting the sport in his country.

He won numerous awards and accolades throughout his career, including the Pride of Performance award, which is one of the highest civilian awards in Pakistan. He also set several records in tent pegging and was regarded as one of the greatest tent peggers of all time.

In addition to his sporting achievements, Malik Ata Muhammad Khan was also a prominent social figure and philanthropist. He was actively involved in charitable work and established several educational institutions and hospitals in his hometown of Hasan Abdal.

Malik Ata Muhammad Khan passed away on March 23, 2018, at the age of 85. He left behind a legacy as a legendary tent pegger and a beloved figure in Pakistan's sporting community.
